About Chobham Business Club

Chobham Business Club was founded by the late Ted Slough in 1983 and celebrated its 25th Silver anniversary in 2008. When the Club was first formed it was called Chobham Luncheon Club, after a few years the name was changed to Chobham Business Club. Since the inauguration of the Club two founder members are still actively involved, namely John Medhurst and Ken Atkins.

The Club was formed with a dozen or so business people and has grown from strength to strength and now boasts around 110 members, included are a number of lady members. In 2006 Tricia Matthews became the first lady Chairperson and in 2008 Claire Firth became the first lady Treasurer and held the position for four year, she has since handed the position over to Keith Ford at Ford Bentall in the High Street. The Committee consists of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and two young ladies who are joint Membership Secretary.

Chobham is an historic village with many old and listed buildings and St Lawrence Church, as displayed on the Home Page, is in the centre of the High Street and is reputed to be the oldest building in the Borough of Surrey Heath.
